AT/B SCOTT TURECAMO/NEW HAMPSHIRE and Sister

The SCOTT TURECAMO is a former towing tug that OT&BE engineered into and AT/B tug. Originally a Halter Marine design, OT&BE and PK Marine redesigned the tug for AT/B service, and covered all aspects of design and refit in the process.

Provided engineering and design for the previous refit of the ocean tug PAUL T. MORAN (Ex. OCEAN VENTURE) with a Bludworth connection system, and the refit of the stern of the ocean tank barge MASSACHUSETTS, for use with the Bludworth system, with full FEA study.

AT/B KELLY/ALAFIA

The ALAFIA and her tug, KELLY are operated by International Ship Management Services of New Jersey. The ALAFIA is a liguid molten sulfur barge, owned by Cargill, Inc., an internationally known company dealing in all manner of agriproducts and minerals.
AT/B VALIANT/EVERGLADES
1999-2000
Provided engineering and design for the refit of the ocean tug VALIANT with a Bludworth connection system, and the refit of the stern of the double-hulled ocean tank barge EVERGLADES, for use with the Bludworth system.
AT/B OCEAN VENTURE/AMERICAN ENTERPRISE
1999
The 7,200 BHP OCEAN VENTURE, and her companion barge, the AMERICAN ENTERPRISE, were converted to an AT/B for American Steamship in 1999. The conversion involved the installation of Bludworth connection equipment aboard the OCEAN VENTURE, and the redesign of the stern notch and skegs on the AMERICAN ENTERPRISE.
AT/B ATLANTA BAY/SOUTH CAROLINA BAY and Sisters
1997-1999
These vessels comprise a fleet of three AT/B’s operated by Keystone Shipping of Philadelphia, on behalf of BP Amoco. Two of the units are specially fitted with heaters and nitrogen inerting systems for the carriage of Paraxylene between the Gulf and East Coasts, in what is essentially a liner service. The third unit carries clean products from Texas City to Tampa.
AT/B AMBERJACK/BISCAYNE
1998
The AMBERJACK and BISCAYNE is a former Morania Oil Tanker Corp. towed unit. In 1998, OT&BE was contracted by Penn Maritime to convert the unit to a Bludworth type AT/B.
AT/B DANIELLE M. BOUCHARD/B-240 and Others

The DANIELLE M. BOUCHARD and her barge, B-240. were built by Halter Marine Group and Halter Moss Point Marine.
AT/B NAVIGATOR/OCEAN CITIES
1997
Engineered the refitting of both the 5,750 BHP tug and the 31,000 DWT ocean tank barge with the Intercon system. This unit is still in service today and is has recently been refit with a double-hull. An East Coast shipping concern.
AT/B LIBERTY
1995
Engineered the refitting of a 35,000 DWT ocean tank barge, with a revised notch and structure to accept a modified Intercon system set up for lightering operations. The tug LIBERTY retained her existing Intercon arrangement and now works with the 300 in Delaware Bay, lightering crude. Provision of a full FEA study for the connection-related structure on both the tug and barge for an East Coast shipping company.
AT/B ELIZA/ATLANTIC and Sisters
1995-1999
The ELIZA and her sister vessels were built by Moss Point Marine, while the barges ATLANTIC and CARIBBEAN were built by Alabama Shipyard.
AT/B LIBERTY/OCEAN 244
1992
Engineered the refitting of both the 7,200 BHP tug and the 30,000 DWT ocean tank barge with the Intercon system. This unit is still in service today and is slated for refit with a double-hull. The tug LIBERTY is currently working with a modified INTERCON system for lightering which we also engineered – see below. Provision of a full FEA study for the connection-related structure on both the tug and barge for an East Coast shipping company.
AT/B SEAFARER Retrofit
1992
Engineered the refitting of both the 5,750 BHP tug and an 31,000 DWT ocean tank barge with the Intercon system. The barge was lost in a collision and fire in Tampa in 1994, but the tug was reassigned to the barge OCEAN 244. This validated the philosophy we advocate, of making tugs interchangeable. OT&BE provided a full FEA study for the connection-related structure on both the tug and barge for an East Coast shipping company.
First AT/B Intercon Installation
Engineered the very first installation of an Intercon system aboard a tug/barge unit. This was a refit to existing vessels, with a 5,750 HP tug and 31,000 DWT ocean tank barge. This unit is still in service today on the Gulf Coast, and was refit with a double hull in 2002. The refit also involved a significant model-testing program conducted jointly with CT Marine, at the MARIN basin. Provision of a full FEA study for the connection-related structure on both the tug and barge.
