First AT/B Intercon Installation

Engineered the very first installation of an Intercon system aboard a tug/barge unit. This was a refit to existing vessels, with a 5,750 HP tug and 31,000 DWT ocean tank barge. This unit is still in service today on the Gulf Coast, and was refit with a double hull in 2002. The refit also involved a significant model-testing program conducted jointly with CT Marine, at the MARIN basin. Provision of a full FEA study for the connection-related structure on both the tug and barge.
