Engineered the refitting of both the 5,750 BHP tug and an 31,000 DWT ocean tank barge with the Intercon system. The barge was lost in a collision and fire in Tampa in 1994, but the tug was reassigned to the barge OCEAN 244. This validated the philosophy we advocate, of making tugs interchangeable. OT&BE provided a full FEA study for the connection-related structure on both the tug and barge for an East Coast shipping company.
