Completed Projects
FACETTUG Class AT/B Tugboat RUTH M. REINAUER and Sisters
2008-
The RUTH M. REINAUER represents a new concept in AT/B design. Equipped with double skin fuel tanks, the first on a boat her size, the RUTH features our new "FacetTug" hull shape with is designed to make double skin fuel tanks in small vessels easier to install and also allows the tug to be built in panel lines, or in less sophisticated yards in developing countries, that do not have the extensive plate forming and bending capabilities.
ATLANTIC IV Class AT/B Tug PATI R. MORAN & Sisters
2006-2008
The PATI R. MORAN and her sisters, built at Washburn & Doughty Shipyard, in Boothbay, Maine, are 5100 HP AT/B tugs equipped with the Intercon "C" coupler. Designed to fit the same barge notches as the OT&BE engineered coupler refits on the BARNEY and SCOTT TURECAMO, the ATLANTIC IV class tugs represent a slightly smaller design than the ATLANTIC III, fitted with a full forecastle to create more room, and maintains the efficient single chine hull design of the III, with a slightly narrower beam of 36’.
ATLANTIC III Class AT/B Tugboat CHRISTIANA for Vane Line Bunkering
2007
The CHRISTIANA and her sister, BRANDYWINE, both built at Marinette Marine in Marinette, Wisconsin, represent the second owner of this class tug as well as the second and third versions built. The tug's hull design was conceived to make it easier to build than her larger ATLANTIC II class sisters, yet at 38' beam, the tug can handle as much as 8,000 RPM.
COSTWISE Class AT/B for Interorient Navigation
2005
Provided full contract and detail design for the new COSTWISE CLASS 12000 BHP AT/B tugs for Interorient Maritime/Caspian Maritime to be built in the Caspian Region, and full FEA study of tug structure surrounding Articouple system. Also providing full contract design for the companion 450,000 BBL capacity crude oil shuttle barges, designed in association with CT Marine.
ATLANTIC III Class AT/B CAPT. HAGEN/KEY WEST
2004
Named for long time Penn Maritime employee Hans Hagen, the CAPT. HAGEN is paired with the double-hulled ocean tank barge KEY WEST. Both were built at Bay Shipbuilding in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin.
SEAWAY Class AT/B Tug DOROTHY ANN
2002
The DOROTHY ANN is a 125’, 7,200 BHP AT/B tug built for Interlake Transportation of Cleveland. She works with a former laker, converted to a self-unloading bulk barge, the PATHFINDER (ex-Mauthe).
ATLANTIC II Class AT/B Tug SEAHAWK
2001-2002
The SEAHAWK is an 8,000 BHP AT/B tug built for Allied Transportation of Norfolk, VA. She works with a specially-designed 120,000 BBL chemical barge, the ATC 21. Both tug and barge were built at Alabama Shipyard.
ATLANTIC II Class AT/B Tug CHRISTIAN REINAUER
2001
The CHRISTIAN REINAUER is paired with the double-hulled ocean tank barge RTC 145, built by Alabama Shipyard in Mobile, AL. The combination operates along the U.S. East Coast moving clean petroleum products.
ATLANTIC II Class AT/B Tug NICOLE REINAUER
1999
The NICOLE LEIGH REINAUER is paired with the double-hulled ocean tank barge RTC 135, built by Alabama Shipyard, Inc. of Mobile, AL. The combination operates along the US East Coast, moving clean petroleum products. During the winter of 2000/2001, the NICOLE and her near sister, the S/R EVERETT, almost singlehandedly kept Rhode Island stocked with heating oil and gasoline.
ATLANTIC II Class AT/B Tug LINCOLN SEA (ex-S/R EVERETT)
1999
K-Sea's LINCOLN SEA (ex-S/R EVERETT) is an 8,000 BHP AT/B tug built for Mobil Oil Corp., US Fleets, then transferred to Sea River Maritime after the Exxon-Mobil merger. She operated the first years of her life in New England, and currently operates along the U.S. East Coast and the Gulf for K-Sea.
ATLANTIC Class AT/B Tug SEA EAGLE
1997
Full contract design of the new tug 5,800 BHP SEA EAGLE, built at Halter Moss Point Marine, designed with a Bludworth-type connection system, mated to the earlier-built ocean double hull chemical barge, TMI 80.
